Holders of bachelor's degrees or pre-EHEA degrees in medicine and surgery, nursing, physiotherapy, pharmacy, biology, veterinary science or other biomedical sciences.
The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
- To gain the ability to conduct medical fitness assessments for sports and professional divers (Level 1 EDTC/ECHM).
- To gain the ability to work as the doctor in charge of sports, tourism or professional diving centres.
- To gain the ability to work as the doctor in charge of hyperbaric medical centres (level D2 of EDTC/ECHM).
- To be capable of working in hyperbaric medical centres and learn to apply specific treatments for diving accidents and other disorders and diseases that are not related with underwater activities but can also be treated with hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) in a single- or multi-place hyperbaric chamber.
