|The main objective of the PhD Program in Food Science and Nutrition is to train doctors to carry out high-quality research in the field of food and nutrition. Thus, there will be a special focus on those areas of specialization with greater demand, such as innovation and research in the design and production of new products, food safety and nutritional and health-related foods, as well as analysis of food and culture, given its complexity.
The program, apart from integrating the Ph.D. candidate into a research group and he/she preparing his/her doctoral thesis, has the following specific aims:
A strong research training, interdisciplinary in character, which provides sufficient knowledge of the topics that the specialist will use in research and development in the areas of food science, nutrition and food safety.
To develop capacities of analysis and synthesis, of work and creativity, to carry out high-quality research that qualifies them to carry out, direct and manage research projects, but that also envisages possible entry into a multidisciplinary team in food companies.
