General objectives of the program
The central goal of the Program is to train good researchers in logic, especially in the areas of expertise of the logicians at the University of Barcelona, that is, in Algebraic logic, Model theory, Non-classical logics and Set theory. It is also possible to do research in the areas of Philosophy of logic and of mathematics.

In order to attain its goals, the Master in Pure and Applied Logic provides students with the basic foundations needed to undertake any research in logic. The research period, through the work towards a doctoral dissertation, provides the candidates with experience and mastery of the techniques that make a student into a researcher in the field.
